WHTR Calculator

Calculate Waist-to-Height Ratio (WHTR) for health assessment and body composition analysis. Evaluate health risks and get personalized recommendations based on scientific standards.

WHTR Reference Chart

WHTR RangeCategoryHealth Risk
< 0.35UnderweightMay indicate underweight or need for health evaluation
0.35 - 0.42Healthy RangeOptimal health range with lowest disease risk
0.43 - 0.52Increased RiskSlightly elevated risk for cardiovascular and metabolic diseases
0.53 - 0.57High RiskSignificantly elevated risk for health complications
> 0.58Very High RiskVery high risk for cardiovascular disease and diabetes

How to Use

1. Measure Your Waist

Measure around your waist at the narrowest point, usually just above the belly button. Stand straight and breathe normally.

2. Measure Your Height

Measure your height without shoes. Stand straight against a wall for the most accurate measurement.

3. Get Your Results

The calculator will automatically compute your WHTR and provide health category and risk assessment.

Example Calculations

Example 1: Healthy Range

Waist: 70 cm (27.6 inches)

Height: 170 cm (5'7")

WHTR = 70 ÷ 170 = 0.41

Result: Healthy Range

Example 2: Increased Risk

Waist: 90 cm (35.4 inches)

Height: 175 cm (5'9")

WHTR = 90 ÷ 175 = 0.51

Result: Increased Risk

Important Notes

  • • WHTR is a screening tool and should not replace professional medical advice
  • • Results may vary based on age, gender, muscle mass, and other individual factors
  • • Consult a healthcare professional for personalized health assessment and recommendations
  • • WHTR values above 0.5 are generally considered indicators of increased health risks
