What is ERA?
Earned Run Average measures how many earned runs a pitcher allows per 9 innings pitched.
Formula:
ERA = (Earned Runs ร— 9) รท Innings Pitched
What's a Good ERA?
โ€ข Elite: Under 2.50
โ€ข Excellent: 2.50-3.49
โ€ข Good: 3.50-3.99

Advanced Metrics

WHIP:
Walks + Hits per Inning Pitched. Measures baserunners allowed. Lower is better.
K/9:
Strikeouts per 9 innings. Measures dominance and swing-and-miss stuff.

Strikeouts to walks ratio. Shows control and command. Above 3.0 is good.
