Earned Run Average measures how many earned runs a pitcher allows per 9 innings pitched.
Formula:

What's a Good ERA?
โข Elite: Under 2.50
โข Excellent: 2.50-3.49
โข Good: 3.50-3.99

Advanced Metrics
WHIP:
Walks + Hits per Inning Pitched. Measures baserunners allowed. Lower is better.
K/9:
